As I was thinking about what I wanted 2024 to bring, only one word came to mind. Hope.
Hope is a beautiful, powerful word. But what does it really mean?
What does hope mean when division and conflict seem to be the norm, when the planet is suffocating, and when all we hear about is suffering and despair?
It doesn’t seem easy to choose hope right now.
And that’s precisely why hope is so important.
Because without it, we can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.
But if you and I choose hope, then hope will win.
You and I are responsible for our life and for our planet, for our common destiny.
Responsible – not for what is beyond our control – but for what is within our power.
It is within our power to choose hope.
It is within our power to try our best, and to have trust in our humanity.
To me, hope means believing that there is a better way.
That we can raise up to the challenges we face, and replace war with peace, hate with love, division with unity.
Hope is the catalyst that makes me strive to be the best I can be.
Hope is what helps me choose patience and forgiveness.
Hope is what inspires me to trust the universe and live fearlessly.
And you? What does hope mean to you?
Will you join me in choosing hope?
It is hope that allows us to choose kindness, inner peace, and trust.
It is hope that allows us to have faith in the intelligence of the universe, and in our common destiny, as humanity.
If our story is recorded in Eternity – let us make it a story of hope – of resilience and solidarity.
Sure, it may take a while.
But it requires us to choose hope – constantly, courageously, unflinchingly.
So, for 2024, I choose hope.
I count on you to join me.
And since we’re talking about hope…and since 2023 has been the year of AI…I asked my AI assistant, Silvana Bot – (a special Bot created by Service Space, with the aim to balance the current AI options with more kindness and compassion) to help me.
Here is what I asked it to do:“Please help me write a short blog about choosing hope. Include at least 3 reasons to hold hope in 2024, despite the current situation.”
And here is the reply:
“Title: Choose Hope: Three Compelling Reasons for Opting Optimism in 2024
“Hope” – it’s more than a word; it’s a deliberate choice we make, especially when times are tough. As we navigate today’s challenges and look towards 2024, choosing hope might seem like a challenge in itself. However, here are three compelling yet comforting reasons why choosing hope brings light even in darker times.
1. The Might of Human Resilience
2. The Promise of Connectivity
3. The Dawn of Conscious Awareness
Choosing hope isn’t about denying reality or being naively optimistic. Instead, it’s about acknowledging the challenges but believing in our capacity to overcome them. It’s about keeping faith in the intrinsic goodness of humanity and our ability to create a better world. So, as we stride towards 2024, let’s choose hope – for ourselves and for the world.”
What do you think? Great, isn’t it?
If AI can find at least 3 reasons for hope for humanity…then choosing hope becomes our duty!!
I’d like to end with this quote from Martin Luther King, Jr.
“We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.”
I hope you agree.
No excuses.
No other choice.
We must choose hope.
Now, and always.
Lovingly,
Silvana
